    • California State Parks, a government site that sites all California State Parks, including the parks in our area.
    • Lake Earl State Park, off Hwy 101, includes miles of shoreline.   Many home in Del Norte County are adjacent to Lake Earl.   The history of Lake Earl is fascinating as you learn about it's formation.   You learn that at one time, Lake Earl was a lagoon, much like Big Lagoon, miles south on 101.  The lagoon that formed Lake Earl was separated from the ocean by a sand bar.   Silt from the Smith River slowly filled in the lagoon leaving what is now defined as Lake Earl, and accessible to the public via Lake Earl State Park or private access from properties along it's shores.
    • Redwood National & State Parks are composed of three California state parks and the National Park Service.       Within the Redwood National & State Park, you will find a cluster of parks.   They include:

    • Six Rivers National Forest - 957,590 acres of  government owned and 133,410 privately owned acres were established in 1947, this area includes acreage of the Klamath Range in Del Norte County.   The name comes from the 6 major rivers that drain or pass through the forests.     Here in the Six Rivers area, you will enjoy the beauty and recreation available only in the serene and beautiful setting of rivers, trees, white water rapids, and more.
      • Smith River National Recreation Area - Found within the Six Rivers National Forest, you will find the newest of the Congressionally-Designated national recreation areas .... Smith River National Recreation Area.    This area was set aside in appreciation of it's spectacular scenic value, historic attributes, wild life, fisheries  and more.
    • Tolowa Dunes State Park
